The Green Book Directory
Hyper-local support for our black community
The original Negro Motorist Green Book by Victor H. Green was a directory first used in the 1930s. It indicated hotels, restaurants, gas stations, bridges and more, that would help black people traveling the United States of America. This was crucial for their safety and sometimes even survival in the Jim Crow era. It has helped thousands to set themselves and families up for a better life. Inspired by the original Green Book this directory will create a stronger sense of community. We will make it easier to identify, support and elevate black businesses and community.
